1 STAR — THEIR APP STILL RECOMMENDS A FEATURE THEY THEMSELVES SAY CAN HURT SEO
Shopify store owners: please check whether SEOAnt AMP is enabled on your store.
I discovered a very serious issue after searching for my own brand on Google from a mobile device. Clicking my Google result could take me to an AMP URL generated through SEOAnt’s /a/p App Proxy, where I was presented with a broken, generic version of my store saying “Welcome to our store” and “Browse our latest products” instead of my actual homepage.
Google Search Console confirms that Google recognized AMP versions of my pages. SEOAnt had generated AMP versions of my homepage and 135 product pages.
Here is the part I find unbelievable:
SEOAnt’s interface STILL recommends enabling AMP, saying:
“If mobile website traffic is crucial to you, it’s recommended to enable AMP. This will help improve your site’s loading speed on mobile devices and achieve higher rankings.”
Yet when you disable the exact same feature, SEOAnt tells you:
“Google dropped AMP’s ranking boost in 2021. It no longer benefits SEO and may hold your site back.”
So which is it?
How can an application marketed as an SEO tool still recommend enabling a feature to “achieve higher rankings” while simultaneously acknowledging that Google removed that ranking benefit five years ago and that the feature may actually hold a site back?
This isn't just theoretical in my case. I personally discovered a broken /a/p storefront being reached through Google on mobile.
I have experienced a substantial decline in customers and sales over this period. I cannot quantify how much was caused specifically by AMP without completing an analysis of the historical traffic, but I am extremely concerned about how many potential customers may have encountered this broken experience.
I have kept screenshots of the Google result, the broken AMP storefront, Search Console showing AMP, SEOAnt’s App Proxy configuration, and both of SEOAnt’s completely contradictory AMP messages.
If you have SEOAnt installed, check this immediately.
Search your own brand on Google from a phone. Check Search Console for AMP pages. Check /a/p. And most importantly, check whether AMP is enabled because SEOAnt recommended it to you.
An SEO application should not be recommending merchants enable a feature for “higher rankings” while elsewhere admitting that the ranking benefit disappeared in 2021 and the feature may now hold their site back.
Completely unacceptable for a paid SEO application.
is not for free. i have paid 200$ in 1 day. I have contacted the team support by chat and request got full refund
Its a very easy to use app and since using it I have noticed our traffic increase and its so easy to create blogs each month.
